Obsessions of a Toddler … such a sweet, sweet little human with so much determination. Lately, I’ve really been enjoying watching my little guy figure life out. He’s quite obsessive about things until he has them figured out … and sometimes even beyond. From checking the mailbox on his own (several times a day) to wanting to walk the dogs all by himself (keep in mind one of them only has 3 legs and weighs 130 lbs, so it’s quite a sight). Yesterday afternoon he put his sunglasses on top of his head and decided a driveway dance party was in order … in his underwear (our neighbors probably think we’re nuts). And no one was about to stop the little guy.
Miles’ biggest obsession involves his best friends. When you’re two, your best friends tend to be stuffed and furry. Meet El Tigre and Leo, my son’s besties (other than our dogs). El Tigre and Leo go everywhere with Miles. From sharing breakfast smoothies, to trips to the potty (flushes and hand washes included), to reading bedtime stories with (on his own, of course). I often catch him babbling on to them, kissing them and telling them that he loves them. It melts my heart every time. It reminds me of a quote I once read, “A good friend knows all your best stories. A best friend has lived them with you.” I couldn’t be more excited to be raising such a determined, intelligent young man that has the dedication that this one does for his best friends. You’re continuing to make your mama proud, Miles. xo
