i love photographing my friends’ families. i get just as excited to edit the family session as i do to photograph it. especially when moments like this happen during the session. like many mornings we have as a family, this one wasn’t going exactly as planned for my friends. they woke up to their youngest son sick and their middle one fussy. i knew their work schedules wouldn’t permit a reschedule, so we went for it. they showed up dressed and ready to make the best of it. and man, they did just that! because everyone was feeling a bit under the weather, there were extra snuggles during our family session together.
sometimes it’s the “in-between” moments that mean the most. moments like this that are nothing but real. nothing but pure, family affection. moments like this that make me love my job even more than i already did.
