Pregnancy can be such a roller coaster. It’s is long. It’s tiring. And it’s hard. But anyone that has ever been pregnant will agree, there’s nothing like a mother’s love for the baby she’s been waiting to meet.
From the first time you hear the sound of their heart beat to the very first time you feel them move. From the pregnancy cravings to the nursery decorating. The name game, the looks game, and all the in betweens.
I never knew I would fall in love with someone I had yet to meet.
Maternity photography is about documenting all of that. The excitement. The emotions. The unknown, the wonder, and the impatience. All of it. I get goosebumps every single time.
For me, photographing pregnant mamas is not at all about the bump. It’s about so much more. The bond that is already formed between mama and baby, long before she has ever arrived.
It’s about the strength her partner sees when he looks at her. The love he thought he knew and how it’s growing more and more each day.
Maternity photography is my way of offering a return ticket to a time otherwise gone. And one that passes in the blink of an eye.
