This last October we had the opportunity of welcoming Michael and Amanda Lovato into our Niwot, Colorado portrait studio. Jenni and I sat with with this amazing couple, chatting over lattes, simply getting to know one another. We spoke of their upcoming little girl who was due the end of that very month, and how they wished to capture images of her as a newborn. While we knew that their tiny gift was one they had strongly been hoping for, we were still far from knowing their story until recently.
A couple years ago, Amanda had to undergo heart surgery (she’s one tough cookie!). As soon as she was given the green light, Amanda went back to her triathlon career. As a professional athlete as well, Michael was with her every step of the way. As soon as she recovered, the couple decided to try to have a baby.
It was February 13th that the Lovato’s dream came true. They were pregnant with a healthy baby girl! It was 13 weeks into her pregnancy however, that Amanda had a scare. The couple rushed to the E.R. The good news, baby was safe and strong. Amanda was put on bed rest. (We told you she was tough!). Amanda and Michael made a theme for their pregnancy, “strong and healthy”.  Amanda searched for girl’s names that resembles that exact meaning.
And her name was Valentine. A strong, healthy baby girl. Discovered by her parents so close to Valentine’s Day. She is perfect.
Valentine recently had her 4 month session here in our studio, and we are in love with her! These images show the heart of this little girl, and the love she shares for her momma and daddy. She is still strong and healthy, as she is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. She has grown so much, as you can see from her newborn photography session images. What a little doll!
We are so lucky to know this family, and to be able to capture their beautiful story through the camera.
