my love for travel runs in my blood. i can’t help it. i’m always planning at least a trip (or two) in my head simultaneously. this trip to vermont, however, was completely unplanned (seriously). when my younger sister decided to tell me that she didn’t have a photographer hired for her in-home newborn session for their soon-to-be-born baby girl (less than 2 weeks before her due date!), i had a mini (well, ok major) panic attack. you can’t tell your newborn photographer sister that you may not do photos of your baby!! 😉 the problem is, she lives 2000+ miles away from my boulder newborn photography studio in vermont. but to be fair, i did fly back to photograph her first born’s in-home newborn session …. so, yep, you guessed it … i hopped on a plane and flew the couple thousand miles to meet and document baby Emerson’s sweet newborn photography session on her 11th day in this world. i knew i would love my niece from the moment i met her, but let me tell you something … i had no idea how much. the second i laid eyes on that gorgeous little face, those sweet little toes, and that beautiful full head of dark hair, i knew it was all over. i spent the next 2 hours ooohing and ahhhhing over this miracle of life and realizing how truly blessed i am for all that i have. although the trip was only 30 hours in vermont, it was worth every second of travel to photograph Emmy’s first photos and the love her family (look at her big brother!!) has for her. i love you sweet niece of mine. welcome to the world! xo
