Twin Family Session
This sweet mama of twin girls and I were pregnant at the same time. And from the very first email we exchanged, I knew we would be friends. She’s one of those mamas that you know is going to be an amazing mother from the start.
Due to my pregnancy complications, which ended with our daughter, Willa being born almost 3 months premature, I wasn’t able to photographer their twin newborn session.
I thought about Ashley often over the next year and wondered how they were, but as busy as life is, I never found the time to reach out. And then, completely out of the blue, I received an email from her looking for a twin family session this fall.
The thing is they live over an hour away, and have twin toddlers … and you know how long car rides with toddlers go. But they did it anyhow. She was set on this session for almost 18 months and we were both determined to find a way to make it work.
And that we did.
But unfortunately after a few minutes into their drive to Boulder for their family session, one of the twins got sick. They continued on and showed up as any parents covered in vomit would, a little unsure. But as soon as we pulled the girls from the car, everything changed.
The light was beginning to set behind the Boulder mountains, the smiles started to appear on everyone’s faces, and I documented the most real, raw, and emotional twin family session of my life.
Everything about this Boulder twin family session was breathtaking. Just watching the way these amazing parents interact with their twin girls is gorgeous. The snuggles, the giggles, the bond, and the love. All of it had my heart singing.
I am forever grateful to have families like this in my life. Being able to document moments like these is why I do what I do. And I truly hope that never changes.
